Eho animato’s latest venture is an international project The Ways of the Heroes. The idea of the project is to artistically examine the problems of social apathy and absence of agency in dealing with one of the most concerning issues of our times – the environment. 

7 partners from 6 countries (North Macedonia, Serba, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, Greece, Italy) faced with different crises, such as air pollution, climate change, privatizations of natural resources, water pollutions, waste pilings and many others, have gathered around a mutual goal of placing these topics into the center of their respective artistic activities. The poetic interpretation of these issues through different art forms may help bring awareness and inspire action.

Eho animato’s role in this project is creating 12 poetic documentary portraits of heroes from all partner countries – people who influence our societies by taking everyday actions that are environmentally conscious and inspiring for us all. These 12 portraits will result in an omnibus The Ways of the Heroes which will inspire other project activities – an illustrated children’s book, a theater performance of Ibsen’s An Enemy of the People, art exhibition, artistic community building workshops and public space performances, all monitored and analyzed by environmentalists who will publish Waste Reports, thus noting the environmental effect of the project itself. 

The Ways of the Heroes is about creating a welcoming community among which we can learn how to empower each other to take actions and adjust our everyday lives and behavior in order to better the human relationship towards nature.
